Chorus Course Overview
Course Description: Chorus provides an opportunity for students to enjoy making music and performing while becoming better musicians. Improved musicianship will be accomplished through the study of melody, harmony, rhythm, expression, vocal technique, and basic music theory.
Classroom Expectations:
Grading Policy: Term grades will be determined using a “total points” system. Classwork, assignments, and assessments will be assigned a point value based on its importance as an indicator of skill or comprehension. Additionally, students will earn up to five “Daily Participation Points” each class for staying on-task (no side conversations), following directions, looking at/listening to the conductor, picking up their folder upon entering/returning their folder at the end of rehearsal, and maintaining a positive attitude. The term grade will be calculated by dividing the number of points earned by the number of available points.
Example: 1,630 points earned = 82% (B-)
1,988 points available
